Personal work, 2021

I made this illustration during a late-night spiral at 25—one of those moments where you can’t quite tell if you’re proud of yourself or completely behind in life.

That night, I was lying in bed thinking:
Sometimes I feel like I’ve done so much. “You did this, you did that, bravo be canım kendim, oh be!”
A few hours later, all the things I haven’t done yet start piling on.
I grab my tablet to draw something, and the moment I open Instagram I think, “People are making such amazing stuff. Why didn’t I think of that? Why haven’t I done more?”

I couldn’t even structure my thoughts properly at the time, but I went with it.
This phrase popped into my head just before falling asleep, and I saw it in my mind circling around a drawing of me.
Originally, I was going to animate the text… but I got lazy.
So here we are.

Years later, I’ve realized this feeling doesn’t exactly go away.
It just becomes part of the process.
